Air France Announces New Boeing 787-9 Service From Paris Charles de Gaulle to Chennai, India

Air France announced on Tuesday the launch of new service from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Chennai, India. Starting June 14, 2020, the carrier will offer three weekly nonstop flights on the route which will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Today, Air France announced the launch of new nonstop service to Chennai, India from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Starting June 14, 2020, the carrier will offer three weekly flights to Chennai and the route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The aircraft is configured for 279 guests, including 30 Business, 21 Premium Economy and 228 Economy Class seats. The departing flight (AF108) will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, taking off from Paris at 10:10AM and arriving Chennai at 11:30PM. The return flight (AF107) will depart Chennai on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:05AM and arrive in Paris at 8:00AM (all times local). Tickets will be available for purchase from March 2, 2020 on the Air France website or app.

Guests onboard Air France’s luxurious Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will enjoy a new cabin design, onboard Wi-Fi adapted to customer needs and windows that are around 30% larger than similar aircraft in its class. Additionally, the eco-friendly aircraft offers a 20% reduction in fuel burn and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and noise footprint, when compared to previous generation aircraft.


Formerly known as Madras, Chennai is a city that has something to offer for everyone including ancient temples, bustling markets and an enduring colonial history. Travelers can also enjoy Marina Beach and St. George Fort, where the story of the British Empire started in the east, as well as the mesmerizing architecture of numerous temples and churches. Chennai will be Air France’s fourth summer 2020 Indian destination after Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. This summer, Air France will offer 24 weekly flights from Paris-CDG to four destinations in India while Air France Group partner KLM will offer 14 weekly flights from their hub at Amsterdam-Schiphol to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The Group, which includes Air France, KLM and Transavia serves 312 destinations in 116 countries with a fleet of 554 aircraft. In 2019, the Air France-KLM Group served over 104 million passengers with up to 2,300 daily departures from their hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
