Air Arabia Abu Dhabi Celebrates Inaugural Flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi celebrated their inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi and Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka on Friday (December 8, 2023).  The route will now operate three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

On Friday (December 8, 2023), Air Arabia Abu Dhabi celebrated the launch of new service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  The route will now operate three times per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  Air Arabia Abu Dhabi currently serves 28 destinations from Abu Dhabi with a fleet of 10 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, featuring one of the most generous seat pitches in an Economy Class cabin.  Customers can also enjoy a range of meals and snacks from ‘SkyCafe’, as well as ‘SkyTime’, the carrier’s free streaming IFE service.


In Friday’s announcement, Air Arabia Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Adel Al Ali, said,


“We are happy to announce the commencement of our flights from Abu Dhabi to Colombo.  We recently relocated our Abu Dhabi operations to Terminal A, a state-of-the-art new facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport, and this launch further demonstrates our commitment to delivering smooth travel experiences for passengers and contributing to the growth of the travel and tourism sectors in both countries.”

 

Also commenting on the new route launch, Abu Dhabi Airports’ Chief Commercial Officer, Maureen Bannerman, added,

 

“We are pleased to join our partners, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, in announcing this new route that will connect Abu Dhabi to Sri Lanka’s vibrant capital Colombo.  This is a new destination for Air Arabia Abu Dhabi and stands as testament to the airline’s continued growth providing more destinations to travel to and from Abu Dhabi.”
