On Friday (January 14, 2022), Aeroflot announced the rollout of a new inflight entertainment (IFE) program concept from January 2022. Starting this month, the IFE system will offer an increased variety of choices and content will be updated more frequently. As part of the refresh, at least 60 Russian and international film premieres and 40 new releases with an IMDb rating of at least six will be added to the IFE monthly. Around half of the new releases will be supplied by Hollywood studios and the largest rights holders. Additionally, the IFE system will feature new trending genres such as newms (short educational animated videos), podcasts and celebrity interviews. The catalogue of Russian and Soviet films will also be expanded and guests with disabilities will be offered a wider range of content with captions and audio descriptions.

The updated IFE offer will deliver at least 220 movies and 200 episodes of TV series and shows. The new content catalog also includes an intuitive search function for enhanced usability. Aeroflot’s state-of-the-art IFE multimedia portal contains around 5,000 items including video, audio, educational, infotainment and game content. Nearly all of the carrier’s Western-built aircraft, including Airbus A350s, A330s, A320/A321neos, as well as Boeing 777s and 737s are equipped with the cutting edge IFE system.
