Aer Lingus to Resume Service to Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Seattle; Increases U.S. Frequencies

Aer Lingus will resume service on several U.S. routes for the first time since March 2020, with flights from Dublin to Philadelphia restarting on April 7th, service to Los Angeles on May 12th and service to Seattle resuming on July 7, 2022.

On Tuesday (April 5, 2022), Aer Lingus announced an expansion of their North American schedule for summer 2022. For the first time since March 2020, the carrier will restart service between Dublin and Philadelphia from April 7th, to Los Angeles on May 12th and to Seattle on July 7, 2022. Additionally, Aer Lingus will introduce a second flight to Chicago operating five times weekly, as well as a second flight to Washington D.C. The resumed and expanded services complement the recent restart of flights from Dublin to San Francisco and Orlando, and from Shannon to New York and Boston, as well as the announcement of the return of Dublin-Miami service from October.


In today’s announcment, Aer Lingus’ Executive Vice President – U.S., Bill Byrne, said,


“Aer Lingus is fully committed to connecting Ireland to North America. We are delighted to be building back our connectivity this year, operating 14 direct routes between Ireland and North America. This summer marks an exciting period for us as we welcome back so many much-loved US destinations for the first time since March 2020 including Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Seattle, as well as greater frequency on our Chicago and Washington D.C. services.”

Celebrating the restart of routes and expansion of their U.S. schedule, Aer Lingus is offering great value fares on all transatlantic routes, with one-way fares to the U.S. from €169 (as part of a return trip). To qualify for the low fares, tickets must be purchased by midnight on April 11th, for travel through June 15, 2022.


Customers traveling from Shannon to New York-JFK and Boston, and from Dublin to Newark, Washington D.C., Philadelphia will travel on Aer Lingus’ state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo LR. All guests traveling to North America will enjoy complimentary meals and drinks, a wide range of inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi, and the PressReader app which offers over 7,000 digital newspapers and magazines. As an added convenience, customers are able to pre-clear U.S. Customs at both Dublin and Shannon airports.
