On Thursday (May 12, 2022), Aer Lingus announced the restart of service between Dublin and Los Angeles (LAX) for the first time since March 2020. For summer 2022, the carrier will offer daily service on the route with one-way fares starting at only €329 as part of return trip. Aer Lingus is the only carrier offering direct service between Ireland and the U.S. West Coast, and today’s resumed service to LAX follows the restart of daily flights between Dublin and San Francisco (SFO) on February 28, 2022. To celebrate the relaunch of the route, Aer Lingus has created the perfect ‘chill playlist’ which lasts for the duration of the flight. The specially curated playlist is available on Aer Lingus’ Spotify profile and is listed as Spotify – ReLAX with Aer Lingus.

Speaking on today’s route restart, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said,

“We are delighted to be resuming our Los Angeles route for the first time since March 2020 and reuniting friends, family and businesses. Los Angeles is a hugely popular and important route for Aer Lingus and now with daily connections to both Los Angeles and San Francisco, Aer Lingus are the only carrier connecting customers to the West Coast of USA reaffirming our commitment to building our transatlantic connections.”

Aer Lingus operate 14 direct routes between Ireland and North America including service to New York, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando, Washington D.C., Seattle, and Philadelphia. Seattle service will restart on July 7th with five weekly flights, while Miami flights will resume on October 21, 2022.

Aer Lingus has partnered with VeriFLY to simplify the travel experience. By downloading the VeriFLY app and uploading COVID-19 related documentation, Aer Lingus customers can ensure everything is verified before arrival at the airport for departure. The carrier’s ‘Book with Confidence’ policy also allows customers to change flights as many times as they want free of charge, up to seven days prior to travel (a fare difference may apply). The flexible booking policy is available on all booking through September 30, 2022. Additionally, most fares include the option to exchange for a guaranteed voucher up to 14 days before travel, and guests who book Advantage, Flex, Business or Business Flex fares have the option of a cash refund if they decide not to travel.
