Aer Lingus has announced changes to their AerClub loyalty program, making it easier for members to move up through the tiers and enjoy benefits.

On Thursday (April 17, 2026), Aer Lingus announced changes to their AerClub loyalty program, making it easier for members to move up through the tiers and enjoy benefits such as lounge access, priority boarding, and complimentary upgrades. With these changes, Saver fare Tier Credits will double from 7.5 to 15 on all flights within Europe, while Smart fare Tier Credits will double from 25 to 50 on all Aer Lingus transatlantic flights. These changes have been effective since the start of April 2026, making it easier for members to move from Green through to Silver, Platinum and Concierge, unlocking more perks as they progress through the tiers. As an example, a Green Tier member flying four return Smart fare trips to North America will now earn 400 Tier Credits, helping them easily reach Silver Tier rewards.
In Thursday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said,
“We know our customers really value the benefits that come with AerClub status, from lounge access to priority boarding. These changes mean members can now earn Tier Credits faster and move through the tiers more easily, even when flying on our lowest fares. These changes make AerClub more rewarding for our customers, however often they choose to travel with us.”
AerClub members also earn Tier Credits when flying with Aer Lingus’ partner airlines, including British Airways and American Airlines, by adding their AerClub number when booking or checking in. Tier Credits are used to determine AerClub tier status and recognize members who fly most often. AerClub members can also separately earn Avios, the reward currency of AerClub, which can be collected not only through flights but also by shopping via the AerClub eStore, hotel bookings, car hire and other partners. AerClub members can then use their Avios to book Reward Flights or enjoy discounts on flights by choosing Pay with Avios.
