On Friday (December 4, 2020), Aer Lingus announced the addition of a new route to their summer 2021 schedule with direct service between Dublin and the Greek island of Santorini from May 2021. This expands the carrier’s offer to Greece to four routes including service to Rhodes, Corfu and Athens. The picturesque Aegean jewel of Santorini provides a stunning backdrop to any holidaymaker’s sun-soaked journey with spectacular horizon views and a dramatic vista. The island’s volcanic remnants have been transformed into expansive cave hotels, plunge pools and rocky viewpoints. With magnificent orange skies and chalk white houses as the backdrop, visitors will enjoy local fare served in cliffside eateries as they marvel at the black sand beaches and infinite views. In Friday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Commercial Officer, David Shepherd, said,

“We are delighted to announce our new service to Santorini as part of Aer Lingus’ Summer 2021 schedule and really give Irish holidaymakers something to look forward to. With the encouraging developments regarding vaccines and the introduction of improved testing regimes we are gearing up for a busy summer ahead. Our customers can book their summer holidays with confidence thanks to our flexible booking options and travel in the knowledge that the airline prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of our customers and our people at all times.”
