Aer Lingus is expanding their summer 2023 flying program with the addition of service to Kos, Olbia, and Brindisi. In total, the carrier will serve 53 European destinations from Ireland next summer.
On Monday (December 12, 2022) Aer Lingus announced an expansion of their summer 2023 flying program with the addition of three new European destinations including Kos (Greece), Olbia (Sardinia, Italy) and Brindisi (Italy). Next summer, the carrier will increase service to European leisure destinations by 18 percent compared to summer 2022, along with 20 percent more capacity to North America versus summer 2019. Peak capacity will also be increased from Dublin and Cork to both Malaga and Faro, as well as from Dublin to Alicante, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Perpignan, Izmir, Bordeaux and Athens.
In Monday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said,
“Demand for European sun destinations is at an all-time high post-pandemic, with European sun high on everyone’s wish list, so Aer Lingus is delighted to announce increases across our European schedule to the most sought after, trendsetting European destinations this summer. We have three very exciting brand-new destinations on offer in Kos (Greece), Olbia (Sardinia, Italy) and Brindisi (Italy), which our customers are sure to love exploring this summer. We’re seeing a big appetite for travel and our ambitious expansion into North America continues with Cleveland and Hartford services beginning, making our summer transatlantic schedule a record breaker with 2.25 million seats on sale.’’
During summer the peak summer 2023 season, Aer Lingus will deploy their entire Airbus A330 and A321neoLR fleet on transatlantic routes, with double-daily service to Boston, New York-JFK, Chicago and Washington, D.C. The carrier will also launch all new service to Cleveland, Ohio in May 2023, while service to Hartford, Connecticut will resume in March for the first time since the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic. In total, Aer Lingus will serve 15 North American destinations for summer 2023.
Aer Lingus took delivery of two new Airbus A320neos during 2022, complementing their existing fleet of eight A321neoLRs. The new A320neos offer a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and a nearly 50 percent reduction in noise footprint compares to previous generation A2320ceos.
