On Monday (April 4, 2022), AEGEAN announced the grand opening of their brand new Business lounge in the extra Schengen area of Athens International Airport, which welcomed its first guests on Saturday, April 2, 2022. The sophisticated 1,250 square meter space promises to offer an unparalleled travel experience and warm Greek hospitality. AEGEAN has incorporated their new brand identity into the lounge, with a design inspired by the lean, traditional Greek architecture, combined with state-of-the-art technologies and upgraded services.

The lounge has been constructed with high quality materials such as marble, terrazzo, and wood, and offers a breathtaking airside view. Specialized areas include a media lounge for networking, a social lounge to stay connected, the quiet lounge for relaxation, and meeting rooms for workers on the go. Recliners are also for aviation enthusiasts, as well as two cafeterias, a restaurant and a wine bar. As the new AEGEAN Business Lounge is aiming to be an ambassador for ‘Greekness’, most warm and cold dishes, as well as wines on offer have been provisioned by Greek producers.

AEGEAN’s new Athens Business Lounge was designed by the globally renowned architect firm K-Studio, building on a successful partnership which began last year with the design of AEGEAN’s lounge in Thessaloniki. The new lounge is open to all Business Class guests, as well as Miles+Bonus Gold passengers and members of the Star Alliance.

AEGEAN and its subsidiary Olympic Air carried 15 million passengers in 2019 and the airline has been honored ten out of the last eleven years with the Skytrax World Airline Award for ‘Best European Regional Airline.’ AEGEAN expects to receive 44 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft by 2026.
