Air Astana to Resume Direct Flights Between Nur-Sultan and Frankfurt, Germany

Air Astana announced on Thursday that they will resume direct service from Kazakhstan’s capital of Nur-Sultan to Frankfurt from August 18, 2020. The carrier will offer four weekly flights on the route, which will be increased to daily service by September.

Yesterday (August 13, 2020) Air Astana announced that they will be resuming direct service between Nur-Sultan and Frankfurt with four weekly flights, which will increase to daily service by September. The route will be operated with an Airbus A321LR, with an outbound flight time to Frankfurt of 6h 20m and a return flight time to Nur-Sultan of 5h 45m. Air Astana has updated the flight schedule for a morning arrival in Frankfurt, allowing maximum connectivity across Europe and North America. The carrier’s fleet of A321LRs feature 16 lie-flat Business Class seats and 150 Economy Class seats with seat back IFE screens. The flights between Nur-Sultan and Frankfurt are codeshared with Lufthansa.

Basic Economy fares start from €440, while return Business Class fares start from €2,172 (including taxes, airport fees and other charges). German health regulations require that all passengers (except those in transit) traveling to Germany must take a COVID-19 test at their point of departure within 48 hours of departure or within 72 hours of entering the country. Customers must also fill out duplicate copies of a ‘passenger locator card’ during the flight. Inbound passengers to Kazakhstan should familiarize themselves with the government’s health and quarantine regulations. Air Astana resumed domestic flights in May and restarted flights to select international destinations during June and July.
