Oman Air Announces Platinum Level Upgrade to Co-Branded Credit Card With Bank Muscat

Oman Air announced on Tuesday that their co-branded affinity credit card with Muscat Bank will be upgraded to the Platinum level. Customers will now be able to accumulate Sinbad miles on any purchase, even when traveling on other carriers.

On Tuesday (August 11, 2020), Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman and Muscat Bank, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate announced an upgrade of their co-branded credit card to the Platinum level. Customers can now accumulate Sinbad miles on everyday purchases, including tickets on other airlines. For every RO 1 spent, customers will receive two Sinbad miles. The enhanced credit card includes new benefits including access to 25 airport lounges around the world, a 50 percent discount at VOX cinemas on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, DragonPass airport dining offers (at more than 200 global restaurants) and YQ Mees & Assist services. All existing cardholders will enjoy the new upgraded benefits, allowing for a personalizes and pleasant airport experience. In Tuesday’s announcement, Oman Air’s Head of Communications, Usama Al Haremi said,


“We are very happy to present the new Bank Muscat Oman Air Credit Card, which will help you get to your dream destination faster than ever before in luxurious comfort and privilege. In addition, getting upgraded to Sinbad Silver tier and enjoying free travel insurance and special offers from Oman Air, cardholders can also enjoy access to some of the best airport lounges and restaurants in the world.”


Also commenting on Tuesday’s announcement, Bank Muscat’s AGM – Cards and eBanking, Amjad Al Lawati added,


“Bank Muscat is delighted to upgrade this unique co-branded card with a whole lot of new features that frequent travellers will absolutely adore. In line with customer-centric initiatives and thanks to our strong partnership with the national carrier of the Sultanate, Oman Air, we are able to offer a world of exclusive privileges and rewards to our valued customers.”


Eligibility for the credit card is limited to Omani nationals or residents age 18 or over with a minimum salary of RO 500, providing they meet the bank’s credit requirements. The card features an interest-free grace period of up to 52 days and cardholders are eligible for 1,000 Sinbad miles when they use the card within 30 days of activation. Additionally, cardholders can receive a fast track upgrade to Sinbad Gold status when they complete two return trips with Oman Air within six months of receiving their card. Travelers are also eligible for free travel insurance (when at least 50 percent of the airfare is charged to the card) as well as an 8% discount on hotel stays and a 35% discount for AVIS car rentals. Oman Air cardholders also have access to a 24-hour cash advance facility up to 100% of their credit limit.
