Virgin Atlantic Opens Ticket Sales to São Paulo From September 6, 2023

Virgin Atlantic will open ticket sales for service between London Heathrow and São Paulo from September 6, 2023. The route will operate year-round on a daily basis starting May 13, 2024 with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

On Thursday (August 31, 2023), Virgin Atlantic announced the opening of ticket sales for their new route between London Heathrow (LHR) and São Paulo, Brazil (GRU), which will launch on May 13, 2024. The route will operate daily year-round with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy Class seats. A full onboard offering will be available to guests, including complimentary food and beverages, along with over 300 hours of entertainment. Inbound customers to São Paulo will also enjoy convenient one-stop connectivity to over 50 destinations in South America with Virgin Atlantic’s codeshare partner, LATAM, as well as throughout Brazil with Gol and Azul. Likewise, inbound passengers to London will be able to connect to other destinations in Virgin Atlantic’s network, including Tel Aviv, Delhi, Mumbai and Shanghai.

In Thursday’s announcement, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen, said,


“The countdown has officially begun to our much-anticipated arrival in Sao Paulo. It’s fitting that our 40th year brings our entry to a brand new continent in South America, symbolising a continued period of network growth for Virgin Atlantic. Sao Paulo is the perfect fit for us, a buzzing metropolis of culture and adventure that suits the differing needs of our rich customer base. Our partnership with LATAM will also unlock further destinations in Brazil and beyond into South America with SkyTeam partner Aerolineas Argentinas, opening up a wealth of exciting opportunities for those who choose to fly with Virgin Atlantic.”


Return fares between London Heathrow and São Paulo will be available from £686 per person in Economy, £1126 in Premium and £2,744 in Upper Class. Flights will depart London daily at 12:45 and arrive in São Paulo at 20:20, while the return flight will take off from São Paulo at 22:10 and arrive in London at 13:25.
