Turkish Airlines has signed a new codeshare partnership with MIAT Mongolian Airlines, which will provide more flexibility and options for customers of both airlines on direct flights between Türkiye and Mongolia, along with additional connectivity via Istanbul.
On Monday (January 9, 2023), Turkish Airlines announced the signing of a new codeshare partnership with MIAT Mongolian Airlines, the national carrier of Mongolia. The partnership will provide enhanced flexibility and more options for travel between Türkiye and Mongolia, as well as additional onward connectivity via Istanbul. Turkish Airlines will place their TK marketing code on MIAT operated flights between Istanbul and Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar, while MIAT will place their OM marketing code on Turkish Airlines’ flights between Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul, as well as ten additional points via Istanbul.
In Monday’s announcement, Turkish Airlines’ CEO, Mr. Bilal Ekşi, said,
“Both flag carriers enhanced their solid collaboration via signing this codeshare agreement and by increasing frequencies reciprocally between Istanbul and Ulaanbaatar. As a result, more Turkish and Mongolian passengers will be able to visit these two unique and beautiful countries, Türkiye and Mongolia. Besides, we will connect more destinations in light of the existing beyond points in the newly signed codeshare agreement.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, MIAT Mongolian Airlines’ CEO, Mr. Munkhtamir, added,
“This is an important milestone in the cooperation of both companies. The agreement will enable the customers of both airlines with greater choice and connectivity. Turkish Airlines is an important airline globally with wide range of network and the cooperation with such an elite airline is a great privilege for us.”
