Starting September 3, 2024, TAP Air Portugal will launch new direct service between Lisbon and Florianópolis in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. The route will operate three times weekly with an Airbus A330-200.
On Friday (June 7, 2024), TAP Air Portugal announced the launch of new service between Lisbon and Florianópolis, Brazil starting September 3, 2024. The route to Florianópolis-Hercílio Luz International Airport in southern Brazil will operate three times weekly with a 269-seat Airbus A330-200 featuring 25 Business Class and 244 Economy Class seats. Florianópolis will become TAP’s 12 Brazilian destination. Inbound customers to Lisbon will also enjoy seamless one-stop access to over 50 European destinations across TAP's network.
In Friday’s announcement, TAP Air Portugal’s CEO, Luís Rodrigues, said,
“The launch of the flight to the state of Santa Catarina has been under consideration for some time. For TAP, it is very important that we have been able to bring forward the launch of this new route to a time when, due to the state of calamity in Rio Grande do Sul and the closure of Porto Alegre airport, the south of Brazil needs it so much.
“An increase in supply to our biggest market, which is Brazil, is something normal and something we want. With this new route, TAP reinforces its commitment to continue investing to be the European airline of choice for Brazilian customers.”
TAP’s Lisbon- Florianópolis service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with flights departing Lisbon between 10:10 and 10:50 and arriving in Florianópolis between 17:15 and 17:55. The return flights will depart Florianópolis between 19:35 and 20:40, and touch down back in Lisbon between 9:50 and 10:55+1. Tickets are now bookable with return fares from €559, including taxes. During the summer 2024 season, TAP is offering an average of 95 weekly flights from Portugal to Brazil, including service from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador and Florianópolis, as well as flights from Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
