Sun Country Airlines Announces 18 New Nonstop Routes for Winter 2021

Sun country Airlines will add 18 new nonstop routes and nine airports for winter 2021. The expansion includes six routes from Minneapolis-St. Paul, two from Duluth, two from Green Bay, one from Madison, five from Milwaukee and two from Rochester.

On Tuesday (April 27, 2021), Sun Country Airlines announced a major network expansion with 18 new routes and the addition of service from nine airports for winter 2021. The carrier’s network expansion includes six new routes from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and two new nonstop routes from Duluth International Airport (DLH) in Minnesota. From Wisconsin, the carrier has added two new routes from Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), one new nonstop route from Madison’s Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) and five new nonstop flights from Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Milwaukee. Sun Country has also added two new routes from Rochester International Airport (RST) in upstate New York.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Sun Country Airlines’ Chief Revenue Officer, Grant Whitney, said,


“With more and more people excited to resume traveling, we’re thrilled to be able to offer them the opportunity to visit these incredible vacation destinations this winter. We’re really proud to bring our brand of convenient, affordable travel to more cities in the Upper Midwest, so folks can enjoy the vacations they’ve been dreaming about.”


The airline’s new airports include Duluth, Minnesota (DLH), Grand Cayman (GCM), Green Bay (GRB) and Milwaukee (MKE) in Wisconsin, Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona (AZA), Punta Gorda, Florida (PGD), St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida (PIE), Rochester, New York (RST) and the Turks and Caicos (PLS). Ten of the 18 newly announced routes will offer the only available nonstop service between the city pairs. From MSP, Sun Country will offer the only direct service to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Punta Gorda, St. Petersburg-Clearwater and the Turks and Caicos.


Sun Country will also be the only carrier offering nonstop flights between Milwaukee and Cancun as well as direct service to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Arizona from Duluth, Green Bay and Rochester.
