After nearly three years of preparation, STARLUX Airlines announced the inauguration of revenue service on Thursday to three destinations from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Today, STARLUX operated three flights to Macau, two flights to Da Nang and one flight to Penang. Celebrating the penultimate milestone in the life of any new airline, in Thursday’s announcement, STARLUX Airlines’ Chairman, K. W. Chang said,

“Finally, STARLUX officially launched today and is able to welcome passengers aboard to experience the meticulous service we’ve been curating for almost three years. I would like to give credit to my whole team and all the supervisors and related departments. As a brand-new carrier, we will fulfill our responsibility to provide safe and high-quality service. At the same time, we will make every effort to make the airline industry in Taiwan better together with our government and other airlines.”

STARLUX Airlines’ Chairman, K. W. Chang, is also a qualified commercial pilot who not only ferried the airline's first three Airbus A321neos from Hamburg to Taiwan himself, but also flew the second roundtrip flight to Macau and back today. All three inaugural routes were operated with Airbus A321neos configured with eight Business and 180 Economy Class seats. Business Class seats can convert into 82-inch fully lie-flat beds and premium guests are also treated to a 15.8” 1080p IFE system. Economy Class passengers enjoy a generous 31-inches of legroom and a 10.1” 780p IFE system, while Wi-Fi is available in both cabins.

The new Airline’s inaugural hub is located at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, located about 25 miles west of Taipei. STARLUX guests enjoy a carefully curated inflight experience including a playful animated 3D safety video, specially designed seats, an exclusive cabin fragrance and boarding music by renowned jazz artist Peter White. Additionally, guests will be treated to a menu carefully created by Michelin-starred Chef, Lam Ming Kin. STARLUX has designed the entire inflight experience to satisfy the five senses of each passenger.
