Southwest Airlines has today announced that they will become the official airline partner of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. According to the U.S. DOT, Southwest carries more originating customers from Colorado than any other airline.
Today (March 15, 2022), Southwest Airlines announced that they will become the official airline partner of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball (MLB) team. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s latest origin and destination (O&D) survey data, Southwest carries more Colorado originating customers than any other airline.
In Tuesday’s announcment, the Colorado Rockies’ Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Walker Monfort, said,
“Tying the Colorado Rockies brand to a top-tier industry leader in Southwest Airlines is the type of partnership we strive for. We look forward to delivering value for Southwest, along with our fans, for years to come through this exciting new partnership.”
Also commenting on the new partnership, Southwest Airlines’ Vice President of Marketing, Bill Tierney, said,
“Through our partnership with the Rockies, we’re able to bring our Mile High Heart to more places and more people throughout the Denver community with the Southwest brand that’s near and dear to so many throughout the state. We also are celebrating our all-star Team of more than 5,000 People throughout the state who step up to the plate and hit home runs daily by showcasing their Heart and Hospitality while connecting Coloradans to the people and places that are important in their lives.”
Celebrating over 50 years of service, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) has distinguished itself by offering exemplary customer service delivered by over 55,000 team members. Southwest offers a robust point-to-point network with a strong presence across leisure and business markets. In 2019, the carrier served 130 million passengers. During peak travel seasons, the airline operates more than 4,000 daily departures to over 100 destinations across the U.S. and 10 additional countries. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, based on the number of originating passengers boarded, Southwest has been the largest U.S. domestic carrier since 2003.
