Singapore Airlines and Vistara Expand Partnership With Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement

The carriers have signed a Commercial Cooperation Framework agreement that will expand their existing partnership with harmonization in capacity planning, sales, marketing, joint fare products, customer service and operations.

On Monday (December 7, 2020), Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced an expansion of their partnership with Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons Private Limited, and SIA with the signing of a new Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement. The deepened partnership will enable a seamless customer experience as the carriers harmonize capacity planning, sales, marketing, joint fare products, customer service and operations. The agreement is an expansion of the codeshare partnership between the carriers initiated in 2017 and remains subject to regulatory approval in Singapore. With the deepened partnership, the airlines hope to achieve further synergies in Singapore and India, as well as in key regions including Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In today’s announcement, Singapore Airlines’ Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning, Ms. JoAnn Tan, said,


“By bolstering our partnership, Singapore Airlines and Vistara are able to work together to provide additional options for our customers. It also reflects the importance of the Indian market to Singapore Airlines, as well as our commitment to grow our network in the coming years.”


Also commenting on the deepening partnership, Vistara’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Leslie Thng, added,


“We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with Singapore Airlines. The intent is reflective of our deep-rooted commitment to providing our customers the finest and most convenient way to fly across the world with the consistency of a five-star travel experience. This is in line with our long-term growth plan of expanding Vistara’s global presence and presenting India’s best airline to the world.”


Tata SIA Airlines Limited (Vistara) is a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) with 51 and 49 percent equity ownership, respectively. Vistara is India’s highest rated airline, with top ratings on Skytrax and TripAdvisor as well as a 5-Star rating from APEX. In a short span of just five years, the carrier has distinguished itself for excellence in operations and service delivery. The carrier connects destinations across India and abroad with a fleet of 34 Airbus A320s, one Airbus A321neo, six Boeing 737-800NGs and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Rapidly growing Vistara has flown more than 20 million customers since commencing operations on January 9, 2015.
