On Thursday (August 5, 2021), SAS announced the launch of two new routes to the Canary Islands for the winter 2021/22 season. From October 30, 2021, SAS will offer new service between Stockholm and Tenerife, as well as from Gothenburg to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. In total, the carrier will offer 17 weekly departures on six routes to the Canary Islands for winter 2021/22, increasing to 30 weekly departures during the Christmas and New Year weekends.

SAS has developed a new digital platform, SAS Travel Ready Center, that allows travelers to prepare everything they need online at home. The platform shows destination travel restrictions and allows customers to upload travel certificates for review by SAS. Travelers can then download their travel pass electronically and go directly to the SAS self-service line upon arrival at the airport.

SAS offers booking flexibility so travelers can book with confidence during these challenging times. Customers can rebook international flights up to 72 hours prior to departure free of charge. SAS Plus tickets can be rebooked and refunded, while SAS Go Flex tickets offer free rebooking of domestic flights up to one hour prior to departure. Additionally, the carrier offers a 24-hour money back guarantee if customers have booked their flights directly through SAS.

The company has targeted a reduction in carbon emissions by 25 percent by 2025, compared to 2005 levels, and hopes to transition to 100% biofuel for domestic flights by 2030. SAS also offers ground handling services, technical maintenance and cargo services. The carrier is a founding member of the Star Alliance, which offers an extensive global network.
