Qatar Airways to Resume Four Weekly Flights to Lisbon, Portugal From August 14, 2020

Qatar Airways announced on Tuesday they will resume four-times weekly flights to Lisbon starting August 14, 2020. With the resumption of Lisbon service, the carrier will now offer 225 weekly flights to 33 European destinations, more than any other Gulf airline.

On Tuesday (August 11, 2020), Qatar Airways announced an expansion of their European network with four weekly flights to Lisbon, Portugal. The new service increases the carrier’s European service to 225 weekly flights to 33 destinations. Qatar Airways’ guests from Portugal can also enjoy seamless connections from the carrier’s Doha hub to 30 destinations in Africa, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and South Asia. The Lisbon route will be serviced with a modern, fuel-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliner configured with 22 Business and 232 Economy Class seats. In today’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said,


“We are pleased to resume flights to Lisbon, further expanding our European network. Lisbon is renowned for its extensive history and culture, boasting a rich artistic and gastronomic heritage and we look forward to supporting the recovery of its tourism and trade industries. Passengers from Portugal can also look forward to connecting seamlessly and safely via the Best Airport in the Middle East to more than 30 destinations across Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and South Asia.”

Qatar Airways has enhanced onboard safety measures for guests and crew including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for cabin crew including masks, gloves, safety glasses and a new protective gown. The carrier has also implemented a modified meal service designed to limit contact. Additionally, Passengers are required to wear facemasks inflight, and the carrier recommends travelers bring their own for personalized fit and comfort. The airline has also introduced protective face shields which will be distributed at the check-in counters at Hamad International Airport. Guests boarding from other locations will receive their face shield at the boarding gate. Qatar Airways’ guests will receive a complimentary protective kit onboard which includes a single-use surgical mask, large disposable powder-free gloves and an alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel. For added flexibility and peace of mind when booking, Qatar Airways now allows unlimited date changes for tickets (within 5,000 miles of the original destination) for travel completed before December 31, 2020, without any fare difference charges.


Business Class Guests traveling in Qatar Airways’ award-winning Qsuite will enjoy a private sanctuary with sliding privacy partitions and fully closing doors. Customers can also use the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) indicator in their private suite to limit crew interactions. Qsuite is currently available on flights to over 30 destinations including London, Sydney, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and will be added to more routes throughout the summer.
