Qatar Airways will launch three weekly flights between Doha and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire starting June 16, 2021. The new service expands the carrier’s network in Africa to over 100 weekly flights across 24 destinations.
On Monday (April 26, 2021), Qatar Airways announced the launch of three weekly flights between Doha and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire starting June 16, 2021. The new service expands the airline’s network in Africa to over 100 weekly flights across 24 destinations. Customers traveling from Abidjan will enjoy seamless onward connectivity via Doha to Qatar Airways’ network across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and North America. The route will be operated with a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner featuring 22 Business Class and 232 Economy Class seats.
In Monday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,
“We are delighted to be launching flights to Abidjan, our fourth new destination in Africa since the start of the pandemic. At Qatar Airways, we remain committed to the African market, expanding our network across the continent and offering seamless connectivity to the largest network of destinations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and North America. We are thankful to the Côte d’Ivoire Government for their support to launch these flights, providing an opportunity to reunite family and friends with their loved ones across the globe. We look forward to working closely with our partners in Côte d’Ivoire to steadily grow this route and support the recovery of tourism and trade in the region.”
Qatar Airways continues to rebuild their network which currently offers service to 130 destinations. The carrier plans to increase their network to over 1,200 weekly flights to more than 140 destinations by the end of July 2021. During the past 12 months, Qatar Airways has added new service to seven cities including San Francisco and Seattle (U.S.), Abuja, Accra and Luanda (Africa), as well as Brisbane, Australia and Cebu in the Philippines.
Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the state of Qatar and from mid-summer 2021 will operate over 1,200 weekly flights to more than 140 destinations, providing more flexible travel options to more global destinations than any other airline. Qatar Airways was named the ‘World’s Best Airline’ in the 2019 World Airline Awards managed by Skytrax as well as the ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ and ‘World’s Best Business Class.’ The carrier has also been awarded the title for ‘Best Business Class Seat’ in recognition of their ground-breaking Qsuite product which offers a spacious 1-2-1 seat layout and is available on flights to more than 40 destinations including Johannesburg, Frankfurt, New York and Singapore.
Additionally, Qatar Airways is the only carrier to have ever received the prestigious “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title five times. The airline normally serves over 170 global destinations with a fleet of more than 250 modern aircraft. Qatar Airways’ primary hub is located at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
