On Sunday (December 6, 2020), Philippine Airlines announced the launch of complimentary rapid COVID-19 testing for customers traveling between Manila (MNL) and General Santos City (GES) from December 7th through December 17, 2020. The government of general Santos requires either a negative rapid antigen or RT-PCR test for entry. Customers traveling to General Santos must arrive at the antigen testing center at PAL’s Gate 3 in Manila two to six hours prior to departure.

The testing center is open Monday through Thursday from 12:01 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Guests will have the option of taking the test at 1300 Andrews Avenue in Pasay City either via drive-thru or walk-in and will receive their results within 30 minutes. The carrier is offering free shuttle service between the testing center and the airport. As an alternative, customers can undergo a full RT-PCR test at their own expense through PAL’s testing facility at the PAL Learning Center in Ermita, Manila or through one of the airline’s accredited testing partners. PCR tests must be conducted within 72 hours prior to departure.

Philippine Airlines offers service to General Santos City on Mondays and Thursdays and the flights depart NAIA Terminal 2 at 6:25 a.m.
