Oman Air and Salam Air Sign Codeshare Agreement Creating Enhanced International Connectivity

The new codeshare creates enhanced connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and international destinations including Chittagong, Dhaka, Sialkot, Multan and Khartoum.

On Wednesday (September 30, 2020), Oman Air announced that they have inked a new codeshare agreement with Salam Air creating enhanced connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and five international destinations. From October 1, 2020 (pending government approvals), Oman Air will place their ‘WY’ code on Salam Air flights between Muscat and Chittagong, Dhaka, Sialkot, Multan and Khartoum. Tickets are now available on the Oman Air website or through travel agents. In Wednesday’s announcement, Oman Air’s CEO, Abdulaziz Al Raisi, said,


“We are proud and delighted with our new partnership with Salam Air. This codeshare agreement will make it so much easier for our guests to travel through our Muscat hub to cities in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sudan. This opens up exciting new opportunities for our customers across the network to enjoy seamless travel to these destinations and enjoy a rich world of opportunities for vacations and business travel. We also look forward to welcoming guests from these nations and sharing our renowned Omani hospitality.”


Also commenting on the new codeshare agreement, Salam Air’s CEO, Captain Mohammed Ahmed, added,


“The commencement of our partnership with Oman Air offers a fantastic new opportunity for passengers of both airlines. We are delighted to be welcoming Oman Air’s passengers on board our Salam Air international services from Muscat to Chittagong, Dhaka, Sialkot, Multan and Khartoum, offering them access to best destinations and a flavor of our wonderful Omani hospitality even before they reach their final destination. We are extremely proud of this new codeshare, which yet again proves testament to our commitment to our passengers in offering an ever-expanding network as well as great connectivity. Founded in 1993, Oman Air is the national flag carrier of the Sultanate of Oman and an official Skytrax 4 Star Airline (2011). In the Gulf region, the carrier operates direct international flights from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Medina and Kuwait. In the Middle East and Africa, the carrier offers service to Cairo, Amman, Casablanca, Tehran, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi. The carrier also offers flights to eleven destinations in India as well Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta and Guangzhou. Oman Air’s European network includes service to London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Istanbul and Moscow. Domestically, the airline serves Salalah and Khasab, while seasonal flights are also offered to Athens, Alexandria, and Malé. Oman Air operates a fleet of nine Boeing 787s, ten Airbus A330s, 28 Boeing 737s and four Embraer E175s.
