On Friday (July 30, 2021), Lufthansa announced the addition of an innovative new value-added product called ‘Sleepers Row’, which will be available on select flights to São Paulo, Los Angeles and Singapore from August 2, 2021. Guests will now have the option of booking ‘Sleepers Row’ at check-in or at the gate before their flight, which reserves an entire row of three or four seats for the duration of the flight. The offer also includes a comfortable pillow, blanket and Business Class quality mattress topper, allowing guests the opportunity to fully relax enroute to their destination. Flight safety is maintained via a special seatbelt and instructions which, remains fastened, even when the passenger is lying down. Additionally, Sleeper’s row guests will enjoy pre-boarding, allowing them to settle in before other guests.

Prior to rollout, Lufthansa tested the Sleeper’s Row concept on the Frankfurt-São Paulo route for several weeks at the end of last year. The product was received with great enthusiasm and high demand. Sleeper’s Row is another step Lufthansa is taking to introduce more product diversity in Economy Class, responding to passengers’ wishes for more comfort and individuality. By equipping new long-haul aircraft with this option, Lufthansa has created one more differentiating enhancement to make flying even more pleasant for guests.
