Today, the Lufthansa Group announced a significant expansion of their timetable from the second half of June with over 2,000 weekly frequencies to more that 130 global destinations. Lufthansa will offer additional destinations from Munich and Frankfurt, while Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti will resume flight operations. During the first half of June, the Group’s carriers will focus on popular summer holiday and business destinations with an expansion of their European and intercontinental network.

Starting June 15th, Lufthansa will resume 20 German and European destinations from Frankfurt including service to popular holiday destinations such as Dubrovnik, Faro, Venice, Ibiza, and Malaga. From Munich, Lufthansa will resume service to as many as 34 destinations including Porto, Split, Cyprus, Biarritz, and Agadir. Additionally, Lufthansa may add frequencies on existing service to highly demanded destinations such as Mallorca and Sylt. During June, Lufthansa’s schedule from its Frankfurt and Munich hubs will grow from 500 to nearly 900 weekly connections. The additional flights for the June timetable are bookable today (May 28, 2020) on the Group’s airlines websites. The Group will also offer 34 long-haul destinations with around 112 weekly connections outside of Europe. From Frankfurt, Lufthansa’s additional long-haul flights include service to Cairo, Beijing, Shanghai and San Jose, Costa Rica. Additional long-haul flights from Munich include service to San Francisco, Delhi, Montreal and Seoul.

After a break of nearly three months, Austrian Airlines will resume service on June 15, 2020 with service to 37 destinations during the first two weeks of the restart. During the second half of June, SWISS will increase service from Zurich to Italy with flights to Brindisi, Florence, Naples, Palermo and Rome. SWISS guests boarding in Geneva will also once again enjoy service to Faro, Nice and other destinations. The carrier will also continue operating ten long-haul routes.

Eurowings will also expand their schedule dramatically in June with the resumption of 40 new European destinations. The carrier will double its operating fleet by up to 20 Airbus aircraft by the end of the month and will focus on popular sunny destinations such as Mallorca, Sylt, Heringsdorf, Greece and Croatia. As previously reported, Brussels Airlines will also resume service on June 15th with service to 59 destinations between June and August. Additionally, Edelweiss will expand its route network over the coming weeks and by the end of June plans to operate 171 flights to 36 holiday destinations. Also, as we previously reported, the Group’s Italian subsidiary, Air Dolomiti, will resume domestic operations with service to Florence, Catania and Palermo from June 5th and service to Bari and Cagliari from June 19, 2020.
