Lufthansa Group Announces Popular Summer 2020 Long-Haul Destinations Now Bookable From Düsseldorf

The Lufthansa Group announced Thursday that long-haul destinations for summer 2020 from Düsseldorf are now bookable. Popular routes include New York, Miami, Fort Myers (Florida) and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Today, the Lufthansa Group announced that long-haul flights from Düsseldorf for the summer 2020 season are now bookable. Some popular North American destinations include New York (JFK/EWR), Miami and Fort Myers, Florida. Starting May 2020, the airline will offer daily service to New York (Newark Liberty International Airport). Lufthansa will also offer service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic three times weekly. All flights will be operated by Lufthansa Group partner airline Eurowings with a fleet of Airbus A330s arranged in a two class 283 seat configuration. Düsseldorf is the capital of the North Rhine-Westphalian (NRW) state and the airport is the largest in the region.


Business Class passengers will enjoy a comfortable seat that transforms into a two-meter-long lie-flat bed at the touch of a button and Premium Economy and Economy Class seats are also available for booking. The North American flights from Düsseldorf will be operated with a Lufthansa codeshare.


Lufthansa will fly six times a week from Düsseldorf to New York/Newark (EWR) with frequency increased to daily service between May 4, 2020 and October 23, 2020. The flights will depart 11:35AM, arriving New York/Newark at 1:55PM (local time). The return flight departs EWR at 4:35PM, arriving Düsseldorf 6:05AM the next morning. From April 27, 2020 Lufthansa will offer service to New York-JFK three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays. Frequency to JFK will be increased to six weekly flights between June 1, 2020 and September 13, 2020. The JFK flights will depart Düsseldorf at 1:10PM, arriving JFK at 3:30PM (local time). The return flights will depart JFK at 5:15PM, arriving Düsseldorf at 7:00AM the following morning.


Miami (MIA) service will be offered three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with a 12:25PM departure, arriving Miami at 6:25PM (local time). The return flight departs MIA at 6:25PM arriving Düsseldorf at 9:20AM the next morning. Service to Fort Myers, Florida (RSW) will also be offered three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the departure time will be 12:10PM, landing Fort Myers at 4:30PM. The Saturday departure time is 1:15PM, arriving Fort Myers 5:35PM. The return flight departs Fort Myers at 7:20PM, arriving Dusseldorf 10:30AM the next day.


Service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic will be offered thrice weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Düsseldorf at 1:20PM and arriving in Punta Cana at 5:25PM (local time). The return flight departs Punta Cana at 6:55PM, arriving Düsseldorf at 10:45AM the next morning.
