On Thursday (May 20, 2021), the Lufthansa Group announced an expansion of their summer 2022 schedule with the addition service to long-haul tourist destinations. From Munich, the airline will offer direct service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Cancún, Mexico and Las Vegas. All three destinations will be served twice-weekly from the Bavarian capital. For guests traveling from Frankfurt, the Group is introducing four exciting destinations from March 2022 including Fort Myers, Florida (U.S.), Panama City in Central America, Salt Lake City, Utah (U.S.), with three weekly flights each. The fourth destination, Kilimanjaro in East Africa, will be served twice-weekly, complementing previously announced summer 2022 service to Mombasa (Kenya) and Zanzibar (Tanzania). The additional flights will be operated by Eurowings Discover and will be bookable from May 26, 2021.

In a separate announcement on Friday (May 21, 2021), Lufthansa announced an increase in flights over the long Corpus Christi holiday weekend (June 3-6), with additional frequencies to sunny destinations in Greece, Portugal and Spain. The additional flights will takeoff from both Munich and Frankfurt with service to dream destinations such as Crete, the Algarve and the Balearic Islands. Additionally, the carrier will add short-notice flights to Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Ibiza, Faro, Lisbon Heraklion and more. From June, Lufthansa customers will be able to choose from 20 additional flight options.

With over 100 leisure destinations on offer for summer 2021, Lufthansa and Eurowings are offering more vacation destinations than ever before. The schedule includes, for example, nonstop service from Germany to 12 Greek destinations for the first time. Lufthansa’s guests can also choose from an attractive array of long-haul destinations this summer including Male (Maldives), Cancún (Mexico) or Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), to name a few.
