On Tuesday (March 14, 2023), ITA Airways announced that they will increase connectivity between Italy and Brazil for summer 2023. From August, the carrier will add four weekly frequencies on the route, with departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with an Airbus A330. The added flights will depart Rome Fiumicino (FCO) at 09:40 and arrive in São Paulo (GRU) at 17:00, while the return flights will depart São Paulo at 19:00 and land at Rome Fiumicino at 11:45+1 (all times local). In total, ITA Airways will offer 11 weekly return flights between Rome Fiumicino and São Paulo. Additionally, in late October 2023, the carrier will launch nonstop service between Rome and Rio de Janeiro (GIG), with seven weekly returns, bringing the number of weekly frequencies between Italy and Brazil to 18.
Thanks to codeshare flights with Azul, and commercial agreements with GOL and LATAM, inbound customers to São Paulo will enjoy convenient one-stop connections to all domestic destinations in Brazil. Likewise, customers traveling to Rome will enjoy seamless onward connections with ITA to the main gateways in Europe and in the Mediterranean countries. In support of the bolstered service between Italy and Brazil, ITA Airways is launching a multi-channel advertising campaign in São Paulo that will run through April 10, 2023. The campaign will be promoted on digital billboards and online.
