IndiGo launched new service between Shillong and Dibrugarh under India's Regional Connectivity Scheme on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. The addition of service to Shillong is part of the carrier’s strategy to enhance domestic connectivity to Northeast parts of India.
On Tuesday (October 26, 2021), IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, announced the launch of new service between Shillong and Dibrugarh under India’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). The inaugural service was marked with a lamp lighting ceremony at Shillong Airport as well as at the Ministry of Civil Aviation in New Delhi. The launch ceremony was attended virtually by the Hon. Union Minister for Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Hon. Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma, and other dignitaries from Shillong at the airport. The new service to Shillong is part of IndiGo’s strategy to enhance domestic connectivity to Northeastern India.
In Tuesday’s announcement, IndiGo’s Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, said,

These new domestic flights will strengthen regional connectivity and promote trade, commerce, as well as tourism through increased accessibility. Direct connections between the tea city of India, Dibrugarh to the capital city of Meghalaya, will cater to the regional travel demand.
