Iberia will offer three weekly flights to Cali for summer 2021, reinforcing their commitment to Colombia and leadership in Latin America. The carrier is also expanding their schedule to Portugal, with new service to Funchal, Faro and Porto Santo.
On Thursday (April 29, 2021), Iberia announced that they will offer three weekly flights between Madrid and Cali, Colombia from July 2, 2021, reinforcing their commitment to Colombia and their leadership in Latin America. The flights will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and the route will be serviced with a 288 passenger Airbus A330-200, configured with 19 Business Class and 269 Economy Class seats. To celebrate the launch of the route, Iberia is offering flexible Economy Class roundtrip fares from €589. The flights will be offered throughout July and August. The new Madrid-Cali flights are in addition to existing daily A350-900 service to Bogotá. Iberia has offered service to Colombia for 63 years.
For summer 2021, Iberia has also added service to Guayaquil, Ecuador as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico. The carrier hopes to add Caracas, Venezuela to their schedule as soon as travel restrictions are lifted, expanding their schedule to 18 Latin American capitals.
In a separate announcement on Friday (April 30, 2021), Iberia announced a major expansion of their offer to Portugal for summer 2021. In addition to existing service to Lisbon and Porto, the carrier will add flights to Funchal and Faro, as well as charter flights to Porto Santo. From July through September 2021, Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum will offer flights from Madrid to 89 short and medium-haul destinations as well as 24 long-haul destinations.
Iberia currently offers 14 weekly flights between Madrid and Lisbon, which will be increased for the period from June 22nd through September 2021. T he carrier also offers 7 weekly flights to Porto and will add four more flights during June, expanding the route frequency to up to 11 weekly flights between July and October 2021.
The airline will launch new service to Funchal starting June 2nd with three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From July-September, the route frequency will increase to five time weekly and will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The second new destination in Portugal is Faro, which will be served three-times weekly from June 4th, with frequencies increasing to five from July through September. The Madrid-Funchal/Faro routes will be operated with a 100 passenger Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum CRJ 1000.
Iberia’s summer 2021 Portugal schedule is completed with charter flights from Lisbon and Porto to Porto Santo in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The charter flights will be operated in partnership with the travel agency Abreu, with weekly service to Porto Santo from both Lisbon and Porto on Sundays. The charter route will operate from June 6th through October 10, 2021 and will be serviced with an Airbus A320.
