French Bee and Air Caraïbes Launch Complimentary COVID-19 Insurance Coverage

Dubreuil Aéro Group subsidiaries French Bee and Air Caraïbes will now offer complimentary COVID-19 insurance coverage for all guests traveling between October 1st and March 31, 2021. The coverage is the first of its kind for a French carrier.

On Tuesday (September 29, 2020), the Dubreuil Aéro Group announced that their airline subsidiaries French bee and Air Caraïbes will now offer complimentary COVID-19 insurance coverage. The insurance, which is a first for a French company, is automatically included in the price of a ticket and is valid for travel between October 1st and March 31, 2021. The airlines have partnered with the travel insurance firm Assurever and coverage includes COVID-19 related hospital costs of up to €150,000, accommodation costs of up to €80/day for up to 14 days and the cost of ticket changes, if a return flight must be changed. The coverage remains in force for up to 30 days after departure. In Tuesday’s announcement, a joint statement from French bee’s Commercial Director, Sophie Hocquez, and Air Caraïbes Deputy Managing Director, Edmond Richard, declared,


“We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers this unprecedented assistance. Due to the difficult times we are all going through, we must keep on traveling! The destinations we offer are idyllic, our products and our products exceptional both in terms of quality and safety! We therefore welcome this partnership with Assurever, which allows us today - whatever the circumstances - to always innovate for the well-being of our customers. "


Also commenting on Tuesday’s announcement, Assurever’s Co-Chairman, Jean-Phillippe and Matthieu Drouet, added,


“We are very proud to support the companies Air Caraïbes and French bee in their desire to offer their customers even more serenity and confidence.”

Both airlines have implemented strict health measures to ensure the well-being of their guests throughout the journey. Air Caraïbes and French bee have eight state-of-the art Airbus A350-900/1000s, which are equipped with HEPA filters that remove 99.9% of airborne particulates, including microscopic bacteria and viruses, as the air is renewed every three minutes.
