Starting December 2, 2023, Finnair will launch new nonstop service between Rovaniemi, Finland and Tromsø in Norway. The route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays with a 68-seat ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.
On Friday (August 25, 2023), Finnair announced that they will launch new seasonal direct service between Rovaniemi (Finland) and Tromsø (Norway) for the winter 2023/24 season. From December 2, 2023 through March 30, 2024, the route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays with a 68 seat ATR 72-500 aircraft. Connections will be operated as Helsinki-Rovaniemi-Tromsø and Tromsø-Rovaniemi-Helsinki. The flight time on the route between Rovaniemi and Tromsø is approximately 1.5 hours.
In Friday’s route announcement, Finnair’s SVP – Network and Revenue Management, Antti Tolvanen, said,
“The Arctic nature and high-quality travel experiences appeal to travellers from various parts of the world, such as Asia and Central Europe. With this new connection, visitors to the Arctic region can conveniently combine both Lapland and Northern Norway in one trip.”
Finnair will also continue to operate direct service between Helsinki and Tromsø, as well as to Bergen, Bodø, Oslo and Trondheim in Norway.
