Flights on both routes will operate from Abu Dhabi twice weekly with an Airbus A320. From today (June 7th), Spain is open to fully-vaccinated international travelers, and Etihad is launching twice weekly summer seasonal service to Malaga from July 9th through September 15, 2021. The Abu Dhabi-Malaga route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring Economy Space and Neighbor-free seating options. With the new service, Etihad Airways will now serve three Spanish destinations including Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga. The route announcements of new summer service to the Greek Islands and Malaga follow the recent resumption of service to Athens, Nairobi, Phuket, Rabat and the Seychelles.
Etihad recently launched ‘Verified to Fly’ allowing guests to validate their COVID-19 travel documents before arriving at the airport for departure. Customers who use the service will also enjoy fast-trach check-in at the airport. To use the service, guests are invited to sign-up by visiting etihad.com/en/manage.
Additionally, the carrier has launched a home check-in service which can be booked up to seven hours prior to departure. The service allows customers to check their bags, chose their seat and collect their boarding pass and luggage tags all from the comfort of their home in Abu Dhabi. Upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, all non-transit passengers that have used the service can skip the queues baggage free, making for a seamless airport experience.
