Etihad Airways announced Monday the launch of new daily year-round service between Abu Dhabi and Vienna. The route will initially be operated four times weekly between May 22nd and June 30th, 2020 and serviced with a two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Today, Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, announced new daily year-round service between Abu Dhabi and Vienna. The route will initially be operated with four-times weekly service between May 22, 2020 and June 30th, 2020. Guests will enjoy the comfort of Etihad’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners arranged in a two-class configuration on the route. The new service will provide point-to-point service for business and leisure travelers between the UAE and Austria, promoting inbound tourism to Abu Dhabi. Flights have been conveniently timed to arrive early in the morning in Vienna and to provide seamless connectivity in both directions through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub to gateways across their extensive global network. In Monday’s announcement, Etihad Aviation Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Robin Kamark said,
“Vienna is the largest unserved market from Abu Dhabi and the announcement of this route brings the number of our European passenger destinations to 22. Austria is an important trade and tourism partner for the UAE and the new flights will enable us to take advantage of the increasing business and leisure demand between the two countries. Trade between the UAE and Austria is strong and there are approximately 180 Austrian companies operating in the emirates. Tourism has been increasing in both directions with Austria becoming an increasingly popular year-round destination with UAE nationals and residents, attracted by the centuries old culture, breathtaking scenery, and famous ski resorts. Vienna itself has been consistently voted the world’s most livable city. We are delighted to be initiating a direct service between both capitals in time for the summer.”
*As previously mentioned, the route will initially operate four-times weekly until June 30th, but frequencies will increase to daily from July 1st through August 31st, five-times weekly between September 1st and November 30th and once again daily from December 1st, 2020. Etihad’s Boeing 787-Dreamliners feature next-generation Business and Economy Class cabins with 28 Business Studios and 262 Economy Smart Seats.
