Delta Air Lines is fast-tracking New York City growth with the addition of 8,000 daily seats and the restoration of nonstop flights to the top 40 U.S. destinations. By November, the airline will be the largest carrier from JFK and LaGuardia airports with over 400 daily flights to 92 cities.
Today (October 19, 2021), Delta Air Lines announced a major expansion at New York (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA) airports. The carrier will restore nonstop service to the top 40 U.S. markets and add 8,000 daily seats. For fall, the airline will add 100 daily flights from NYC, a 25 percent increase over their summer 2021 offer. By November, Delta will become New York JFK and LGA’s largest carrier, operating over 400 daily flights to 92 destinations.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ SVP – Network Planning, Joe Esposito, said,
“We’re adding 25% more capacity this fall to meet the significant demand for business and international travel going into next year. We continue to provide more choice and convenience while rebuilding our global connectivity and delivering what Delta does best – putting our customers first with exceptional, reliable service and a premium travel experience.”
Delta will also increase service form New York to key business markets, including Boston (BOS), Washington D.C. (DCA), Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Charlotte, following recently expanded service to Chicago (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston (IAH). The carrier also recently launched new service between New York-LaGuardia and Toronto (YYZ), and will start new service to Worcester, Massachusetts on November 1st, 2021.
