Delta is adding new service from Detroit to Tulum, and between Los Angeles and Mazatlán. Additionally, Delta’s partner Aeromexico will launch service from Atlanta and Los Angeles to Manzanillo, from Newark to Mexico City, and between Denver and Monterrey.
On Tuesday (July 30, 2024), Delta Air Lines announced the launch of new routes between Detroit and Tulum, and from Los Angeles to Mazatlán for the winter 2024/25 season. Delta’s JCA partner Aeromexico will also be introducing flights between Atlanta and Manzanillo, as well as from Newark to Mexico City. The new route between Detroit (DTW) and Tulum (TQO) will launch on January 11, 2024, complementing existing service to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta. Service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Mazatlán (MZT) will commence on December 21, 2024.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ SVP – Network Planning, Joe Esposito, said,
“Month after month, our customers are showing us one thing: They want to get out and see the world. Mexico is one of our most popular destinations for U.S. customers. That’s why we’re adding four new destinations in Mexico this year, giving our customers even more ways to experience Latin America’s rich cultural heritage.”
Delta’s partner Aeromexico will also start new service from Atlanta and Los Angeles to Manzanillo (ZLO) from November 2nd and December 21st, respectively. Additionally, starting October 27, 2024, Aeromexico will offer daily service between Newark and Mexico City, increasing flight frequencies to Mexico City from the New York City area to five flights daily. Starting December 21, 2024, Aeromexico will also begin new daily service nonstop service between Denver (DEN) and Monterrey (MTY).
The new routes to Tulum and Mazatlán will operate once weekly on Saturdays with Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A319 aircraft, featuring First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin options. First Class guests will enjoy a chef-curated meal, along with complimentary premium wine, beer and spirits. Customers traveling in Delta Comfort+ will enjoy extra room, as well as complimentary beverages. All guests will appreciate over 1,000 hours of premium entertainment via Delta Studio, along with in-seat power, while Delta SkyMiles members will enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi.
