The surf is up for British holidaymakers planning a “staycation” in the UK this summer as British Airways announces new service between London-Heathrow (LHR) and the coastal town of Newquay (NQY) in Cornwall. The new route is the only direct Heathrow-Newquay link and joins a host of new summer 2020 destinations previously announced by British Airways including cities in Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro and Turkey. Tickets are available for purchase today, for travel between July 2nd and September 7th, 2020. Flights will be offered five times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In Wednesday’s announcement, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, Neil Chernoff said,

“We know that customers enjoy exploring the UK as much as they do going further afield, and Newquay has so much to offer, especially in the summer months.”

Also commenting on Wednesday’s announcement, Cornwall Airport Newquay’s Interim Director, Richard Thomasson added,

“We are delighted British Airways will be flying to Cornwall this summer and to be able to continue to offer this vital link between Cornwall and Heathrow. With such a major global carrier we will be able to offer our passengers one-stop access to the world, while worldwide investors and tourists will benefit from an easier connection to our stunning country.”

Return fares on the route start at £90 in Euro Traveller and £250 in Club Europe and as always Members of British Airways Executive Club can earn Avios on their booking. Avios can be redeemed for Reward flights, upgrades, hotels, car rentals and even as partial payments to reduce flight costs.
