On Wednesday (February 17, 2021), Allegiant announced new nonstop routes in response to growing customer demand. First, starting June 2, 2021, the carrier will offer direct flights between Portsmouth International Airport (PSM) in New Hampshire and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) in Florida. Next, Allegiant will launch nonstop service between Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Key West International Airport (EYW) in Florida from June 3, 2021. Finally, Allegiant will expand their special limited route between Punt Gorda Airport (PGD) in Florida and Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) in South Dakota. The carrier previously announced that the route would operate for two weeks in August to coincide with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, but due to overwhelming demand, the route will operate twice-weekly all summer from June 4, 2021.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Allegiant’s Senior Vice President of Revenue, Drew Wells, said,

“There is a lot of pent-up demand for travel to cities that offer a gateway to great outdoor experiences. The addition of two new routes, and the expansion of the Punta Gorda-Rapid City route, reflects that demand. We expect them all to be popular, as visitors continue to seek ways to get outside.”

To celebrate the launch of the new routes between the Northeast and Florida, Allegiant is offering introductory one-way fares from only $59. Flights must be purchased by February 17, 2021, for travel by November 16, 2021.

Founded in 1999, Las Vegas-based Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) links passengers from small to medium cities to world-class leisure destinations with all non-stop flights and industry-low average fares. The company offers base airfares that are often half the price of a typical roundtrip ticket and operates an all-Airbus A320 Family fleet.
