Alaska Airlines Expands International Network With New Service to Belize

Alaska Airlines is expanding in Central America with new service between the West Coast and Belize. Starting November 19, 2021, the carrier will offer four weekly flights between Los Angeles to Belize City, as well as two weekly flights to the tropical paradise from Seattle.

On Thursday (May 26, 2021), Alaska Airlines announced the schedule for the launch of their new service between the U.S. West Coast and the Central American tropical destination of Belize. Starting November 19, 2021, the carrier will serve Belize City (BZE) four times weekly from Los Angeles (LAX) and twice weekly from Seattle (SEA). To celebrate the launch of the new international service, Alaska is offering fares from $199 and $249 from Los Angeles and Seattle, respectively. Belize will become the fourth country served by Alaska from their West Coast hubs, joining Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.


In Thursday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines’ Vice President of Network and Alliances, Brett Catlin, said,


“Our guests are eager for more eco-friendly leisure destinations, especially as they get vaccinated, and we're ready to offer them terrific options. Belize offers an unbeatable mix of sensational beaches, iconic cayes and rich heritage.”


Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler, added,



“Increased commercial air service is imperative to the success of Belize's tourism, and with these new West Coast connections, we are able to offer convenience and more availability to our guests looking for a unique getaway. Alaska Airlines remains an important partner in accommodating the increased demand for service to our world-class destination – facilitating travel to Belize so that visitors can enjoy our tropical climate year-round, lush rainforests, mystical Mayan sites and celebrated authentic culture and cuisine.”
