Starting April 15, 2023, Air Serbia will commence new service between Belgrade and Lisbon, Portugal. The route will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A319.
On Tuesday (February 14, 2023), Air Serbia announced the launch of new service between Belgrade, Serbia (BEG) and Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado International Airport (LIS). Flights will be offered twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the route will be operated with an Airbus A319. Historic Lisbon combines old customs and ancient history with modern culture, entertainment and technological innovations. The vibrant, timeless and hospitable city welcomes visitors with open arms. Must see destinations in Lisbon include the famous Mosteiro dos Jerónimos Monastery, which was built to commemorate Vasco de Gama’s journey to India, and the Arco da Rua Augusta building, which offers spectacular views of the city. Lisbon is also home to popular museums such as the National Coach Museum and the National Museum of Ancient Art, which features works from Portuguese, European, African and Asian cultures.
In Tuesday’s route announcement, Air Serbia’s General Manager – Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said,
“There has been lots of interest for launching flights between Belgrade and Lisbon, and now I'm happy to announce that Air Serbia will launch its first route to Portugal in April. I believe that this news will make passengers happy. By adding Lisbon to our network, we are opening the doors of Portugal's capital, which has 290 sunny days a year, on average, and the temperature rarely falls below 15 degrees.”
Inbound guests to Belgrade will also enjoy seamless onward connections to destinations in Air Serbia’s network including Athens, Larnaca, Istanbul, Zurich, Podgorica, Bucharest, Skopje, Ohrid, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb, Tivat, Tirana, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, and many others.
Air Serbia was launched under their current name in October 2013, as the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. The carrier offers service from Belgrade, Niš and Kraljevo to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Africa with both passenger and cargo flights. Air Serbia also offers service to Asia, Australia, North America and Africa via codeshare partners. The airline’s fleet consists of 19 aircraft, including one Airbus A330, 12 Airbus A320 Family and six ATR-72 Family turboprop aircraft.
