On Tuesday (December 21, 2021), Air Serbia announced the launch of new flights from Niš Constantine the Great and Kraljevo Morava Airports starting January 4, 2022. From Niš the carrier will launch new service to Belgrade, Istanbul, Frankfurt (Hahn), Cologne and Ljubljana, as well as flights between Kraljevo and Istanbul. All routes will operate twice weekly, with the exception of Belgrade-Niš flights which will operate four times per week. For summer 2022, Air Serbia will also offer seasonal routes including service from Niš to Tivat and Athens, and from Kraljevo to Thessaloniki and Tivat. Flights to the new destinations will operate through December 31, 2023 under a contract awarded to the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Air Serbia’s General Manager – Commercial and Strategy, Jiří Marek, said,

“We are happy that we are expanding our offer from South and West Serbia and Šumadija. In this way, we will make it much easier for our passengers to plan their trips, as well as contribute to the strengthening of commercial and tourism activities in these parts of Serbia. For the first time, flights between Niš and Belgrade will be introduced, allowing passengers from South Serbia to travel to other European destinations in Air Serbia’s network via the capital, as the airline’s hub. Additionally, we are very glad that we are connecting Niš with Cologne, our new, fifth destination in Germany.”
