Air Canada announced Thursday that their inaugural flight from Montreal to São Paulo has touched down in Brazil. The airline offers the only non-stop service to Brazil’s largest city from Montreal and will offer three weekly flights through March 27, 2020.
Today, Air Canada announced the completion of their inaugural flight from Montreal to São Paulo, Brazil. The carrier is the only airline to operate non-stop service to Brazil’s largest city and will offer three flights weekly until March 27, 2020. The route is operated by Air Canada’s flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner configured with 298 seats featuring Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class service. A high definition IFE system is located at each seat offering on-demand entertainment and a wide range of movies, short films, TV programs and audio selections. In Thursday’s announcement, Air Canada’s Vice President – Network Planning, Mark Galardo said,
“We are very pleased to celebrate the historic start of non-stop service between Montreal and Brazil, marked by the launch of our newest international flight to São Paulo. Complementing our Toronto services, our new flights from Montreal provide another convenient link to Brazil’s largest city and financial centre while offering a great opportunity for Brazilians to enjoy an exceptional Quebec winter vacation. São Paulo is one of 13 new international destinations added by Air Canada from Montreal-Trudeau Airport since 2017, further reinforcing our ongoing transformation of Montreal into a competitive, international hub. The Montreal-Brazil route also underscores Air Canada’s strategic expansion to South America, with new flights that launched from Toronto to Quito on December 8, and starting next summer, from Montreal to Bogota.”
Onboard, Air Canada Signature Class guests will enjoy a South American inspired menu by Montreal’s award-winning Chef Antonio Park. Chef Park’s menu options will also be available at the Montreal International Maple Leaf Lounge and on Toronto-São Paulo flights.
Air Canada has scheduled the flight to allow for seamless connections across their network in North America, including service between Vancouver, Calgary, Quebec City, New York and Boston, as well as Brazilian cities beyond São Paulo. The departing flight (AC96) takes off from Montreal at 6:35PM and arrives at São Paulo at 6:30AM the next day and is available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight is available on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and departs São Paulo at 8:40AM, arriving Montreal at 2:45PM.
