Wizz Air has successfully acquired 15 pairs of slots at London Gatwick from Norwegian Air Shuttle and will add four Airbus A321neos to the base. With the expansion, Wizz will have a total of five based aircraft at Gatwick from spring 2022.
On Wednesday (December 22, 2021), Wizz Air announced that they have successfully acquired 15 pairs of slots at London Gatwick from Norwegian Air Shuttle. The carrier will add four Airbus A321neos to the base, expanding their total based Gatwick fleet to five aircraft by spring 2022. With the expansion, Wizz will be launching a host of new low-fare routes, and the slots will also create significant inbound flight opportunities for Wizz Air Hungary. Wizz Air originally opened their London Gatwick base in October 2020, creating new travel opportunities for customers based in London and the South of England.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Wizz Air Group’s Chief Executive Officer, József Váradi, said,
