On Tuesday (January 17, 2023), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced that their Swiss AviationSoftware (Swiss-AS) subsidiary was transferred to Lufthansa Technik at the end of 2022. The Group expects that the integration of Swiss AviationSoftware’s world-leading AMOS maintenance application into Lufthansa Technik’s digital ecosystem will generate valuable synergies, while furthering the expansion and development of the Swiss company, which remains autonomous. The AMOS software solution complements the AVIATOR (data and analytics solutions) and Flydocs (digital records and asset solutions).

In Tuesday’s announcement, SWISS’ Chief Financial Officer, Markus Binkert, said,

“Transferring Swiss-AS to Lufthansa Technik will permit greater and more targeted investment and ensure that the company plays a substantial role in shaping the Lufthansa Group’s future digital ecosystem for the MRO sector. This will benefit SWISS as a customer, too. And in taking this strategic decision, we are further enabling Swiss-AS to pursue its own consistent development and its further expansion within the digital field.”

Also commenting on the company’s transfer to Lufthansa Technik, Swiss AS’ CEO, Fabiano Faccoli, added,

“The integrability of our software is the key to successful digitalization throughout the value chain. We’re convinced that by coordinating our software solutions with the further platforms within the Lufthansa Technik ecosystem, we can empower our customers to digitalize even more swiftly by adopting and maintaining industrywide standards for their data exchange activities.”

Since 2004, Swiss AviationSoftware has been an autonomous subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines. The company’s AMOS application is a world-leader in providing MRO software solutions, and serves over 200 international customers. SWISS-AS employs over 270 team members at their Allschwil headquarters near Basel in Switzerland. The company also maintains branch offices in Singapore, Tokyo and Miami, Florida.
