Porter Airlines Defers Resumption of Service by One Month to July 29, 2020

Porter Airlines announced on Tuesday that they will defer their return to service by one month to July 29, 2020 due to ongoing travel restrictions. The carrier has also cancelled their planned seasonal summer services to Muskoka, Ontario and Stephenville, N.L.

Today, Porter Airlines announced that they will defer their resumption of service by one month until July 29, 2020 due to ongoing COVID-19 related travel restrictions. The airline is also cancelling planned seasonal summer service to Muskoka, Ontario and Stephenville in Newfoundland & Labrador (N.L.). Porter is also planning enhanced health and safety measures for the wellbeing of their team members and guests, which will be detailed before the restart of operations. Additionally, the carrier is also waiving all change and cancellation fees on airline and Escapes vacation packaged through July 29, 2020. In Tuesday’s announcement, Porter Airlines’ President and CEO, Michael Deluce said,

“We want to see our planes in the sky as soon as possible and are actively working to prepare for our resumption of service. However, the ongoing uncertainty presented by government travel restrictions, including border closures, is impacting our ability to operate flights. We are closely watching developments and know that Porter will be an important part of providing people with travel options as the economy recovers.”
