Emirates Resumes Service to New York Newark via Athens

Emirates will resume service to New York Newark via Athens from June 1st, 2021, providing another access point to the Greater New York City area, and convenient service for the large Greek-American population, with seamless onward connections via Dubai.

On Monday (February 22, 2021), Emirates announced the resumption of service to New York Newark (EWR) via Athens from June 1st, 2021. The resumed service will provide more access to global travelers to the Greater New York City Area, while providing more connectivity to the large Greek-American population. Additionally, the new service will provide seamless onward connections through Emirates’ Dubai hub to destinations in the Middle East, West Asia and Africa.

The resumed route expands Emirates’ U.S. network to 10 destinations including Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Dallas and San Francisco (to resume on March 2, 2021). The Dubai-Athens-Newark route will be serviced with a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, complementing the carrier’s twice-daily service to New York-JFK. The new U.S.-Greece link will open year-round connectivity, facilitating trade and tourism. To support the Athens-Newark route, Emirates will increase daily service between Dubai and Athens.

The departing flight (EK209) will leave Dubai at 10:50 and arrive in Athens at 15:00. The flight then departs Athens at 17:35 and arrives at Newark Liberty International Airport at 21:20 on the same day. The return flight (EK210) departs Newark at 23:35 and arrives in Athens at 16:05 the next day. The flight then departs Athens at 18:05 and arrives in Dubai at 23:35 (all times local).
