Emirates Collaborates With UAE Artists for Bespoke Edition of Classic Ramadan Boxes

Emirates’ signature Ramadan service has been a mainstay for 20 years of the carrier’s commitment to guests traveling throughout the holy month. This year, from April 13th, the airline’s guests breaking their fast onboard will be treated to a bespoke artist-inspired meal.

On Tuesday (April 6, 2021), Emirates announced a special collaboration with Dubai-based artists for guests traveling throughout the holy month of Ramadan. For over 20 years, Emirates’ signature Ramadan service has been a mainstay of the carrier’s bespoke service, providing a comfortable journey throughout the holy month. From April 13th, customers breaking their fast, or about to start fasting onboard will be offered special edition boxes with a nutritional meal. Each box will include traditional meals such as chicken, cauliflower and eggplant salad with tahini and mouhammara or a baked potato and onion salad with Moroccan chicken and hummus or sandwiches, Arabic bread, dates, laban and water.

The iftar boxes are served in addition to Emirates’ award-winning meal service and the menus will be refreshed weekly. The special Ramadan meals are available to all classes of guests on flights which coincide with iftar and suhoor times, including flights to and from the Gulf, as well as groups traveling to Jeddah and Medina during the month of Ramadan. The carrier’s award-winning ‘ice’ inflight entertainment system will also feature Special religious programming for Ramadan.

During Ramadan, Emirates’ airport lounges in Dubai will also be serving Arabic coffee, dates, sweets and lentil soup throughout the holy month. During iftar and suhoor times, customers waiting to board will also be offered water and dates at the gate. To Mark the end of the holy month, Emirates is also serving a special Eid menu on flights to and from the Gulf region from May 13th through May 16th. First and Business Class guests can expect traditional Middle Eastern dishes such as Mashwi Al Jider or Lamb Kofta with saffron tomato sauce and zereshk rice, while Economy Class guests will enjoy Aish Al Saraya or sago pudding garnished with dates.
