On Thursday (October 7, 2021), Emirates announced that they have partnered with the HBO Max streaming service to bring the best premium content onboard. Emirates’ award-winning ‘ice’ inflight entertainment (IFE) system recently won Skytrax’s ‘World’s Best Airline for Inflight Entertainment’ Award for the 16th year in a row. With the addition of HBO Max, guests will be able to enjoy favorites such as Friends: The Reunion, Mare of Easttown, Wahl Street and more blockbuster content. Emirates is the first airline in the region to partner with WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, the go-to streaming destination for hit movies and shows.

Emirates’ latest ice addition, HBO Max, will initially launch with 160 hours of content from 31 shows, which will be gradually expanded. Once onboard, Emirates’ guests can browse the latest HBO Max content in a dedicated folder on ice. Customers also have the option for planning their entertainment choices in advance by browsing all ice content on the airline’s website and creating a personalized playlist on the Emirates app. Once onboard, guests can then sync their playlist with ice, so they can start their movie or TV binge immediately.

In terms of content, Emirates’ ice system continues to lead the industry, with over 4,500 channels of on-demand movies, TV shows, box sets and more. Catering to Emirates’ global clientele, ice features content in over 40 languages. From indie films to global blockbusters, the unmatched selection is curated from over 50 countries. Most of the content also offers subtitles and closed caption options, making it accessible to an even wider audience.
