Copa Airlines to Launch New Routes to Tulum, Mexico, Florianopolis, Brazil, and Raleigh-Durham

Starting June 2024, Copa Airlines will launch service to three new destinations, including Tulum in Mexico, Florianopolis, Brazil, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (U.S.)

On Thursday (February 15, 2024) Copa Airlines announced the launch of three new routes, with service to Tulum (Mexico), Florianopolis (Brazil), and Raleigh-Durham North Carolina (U.S.) from June 2024.  Raleigh-Durham will become the carrier’s 16th U.S. destination, Florianopolis, the ‘Island of Magic’, will become Copa’s seventh destination in Brazil, and Tulum will become the airline’s fifth Mexican destination.  With the added routes Copa Airlines’ network will grow to 85 destinations in 32 countries across the Americas and the Caribbean.

In Thursday’s announcement, Copa Airlines’ CEO, Pedro Heilbron, said,

“We remain steadfast in our purpose to shorten distances and facilitate connections, allowing Panama to continue being the bridge that unites thousands of people throughout the continent, while contributing to the economic development of the communities where we operate.  This strategic expansion not only promotes cultural exchange in the region but also encourages and deepens tourism and business ties in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.  It also opens up the opportunity for more tourists to enjoy the wonders of Panama through the Panama Stopover program.”

Starting June 21, 2024, flights to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Panama City at 08:56 and arriving in Raleigh-Durham at 14:28.  The return flights departs RDU at 16:20 and arrives back in Panama City at 19:46 (all times local).  From June 26, 2024, flights to Tulum, Mexico will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, complementing existing service to Mexico City, Cancun, Guadalajara, and Monterrey.  Flights will depart Panama City at 07:45and arrive in Tulum at 10:34.  The return flight takes off from Tulum at 11:44 and touches down back in Panama City at 14:23 (all times local).

Service to Florianopolis will operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays starting June 25, 2024.  Flights will depart Panama City 15:23, and will arrive in Florianopolis at 00:22.  The return flight departs Florianopolis at 01:25, and lands back in Panama City at 06:30 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays (all times local).
