On Monday (November 22, 2021), China Airlines, the Taiwan-based carrier, announced the introduction of a new wireless inflight entertainment (IFE) system for their Boeing 737-800 fleet. The new Fantasy Sky Wireless Entertainment System is currently in trial-run mode and will be rolled out in 2022. Guests will soon be able to use their personal smart devices to enjoy a wide range of multimedia streaming services while inflight. Once the aircraft reaches 10,000 feet, customers will be able to connect to the network to enjoy free video-on-demand services for Hollywood blockbusters, select Japanese and Korean films, or popular music selections. Additionally, customers can browse inflight publications such as the Dynasty magazine and Sky Boutique Duty-Free Shopping, or use the interactive interface to check flight information and real-time status.

China Airlines continues to upgrade their cabin offerings with a rich selection of quality services. The new IFE system also reduces contact inside the cabin, for greater peace of mind in the age of the global COVID-19 pandemic. For an optimal audio-visual experience, the airline recommends that guests bring their own headphones and personal smart device.

Founded in 1959, Taiwan-based China Airlines currently serves 159 destinations in 29 countries and territories.
